Hokkaido July’17 Trip: Asahiyama Memorial Park (30 July 2017)
Major throwback post! Panoramic city views is a staple on my go-to list when I go for an overseas trip, on top of the many other tourist attractions.
The top few searches that came up when I search for panoramic city views of Sapporo were Mt Moiwa, JR Tower Observation Deck T38, and Sapporo TV Tower. But I wanted something different, less touristy suddenly so I settled for Asahiyama Memorial Park, which was built to commemorate the cities’ 100th year.
Surrounded by nature, the Asahiyama Memorial Park was more secluded and quiet. Asahiyama Memorial Park fits right into my criteria of not having to view a panoramic city view from an artificially built building. The view was breathtaking (一望无际), and what’s more the backdrop is perfect for some jump shots!
On the drive down, there is this secluded shrine that you could pop by. There’s a Japanese tradition that you were supposed to walk up the torii gates from the bottom, but the parking lot was right at the shrine entrance. Nothing much but if you have yet to visit any shrines before, you could pop by see see look look.
To conclude, no regrets coming here as it is free! keke
