Hello there first time cruisers, curious about whether you could bring alcohol onboard? The answer is it depends.

Which alcoholic beverage can you bring on board?

Guests are allowed to bring onboard two (2) 750 ml bottles of wine or champagne per stateroom in their carry-on luggage. Other than that, guests are not allowed to bring in liquor, meaning whiskey, gin, soju and beer. I guess the reason why is because if they allow you to bring your own alcoholic beverages then, who is going to purchase their Deluxe Beverage Package leh?!

We have seen so many bottles of liquor being seized on embarkation day (including our grape soju sobbs), which will be returned on the second last day during evening time to your stateroom. This came along with a reminder to declare and pay taxes on dutiable and taxable goods brought into Singapore. LOL which I do not think that 1 bottle of soju can be taxed but ya we decided to just finish it, one less item to bring back.

Like that, non-alcoholic beverages leh?

Non-alcoholic beverages is allowed, but only 12 standard (17 oz.) cans, bottles or cartons per stateroom is allowed. The only non-alcoholic beverages we brought aboard were a few cans and bottles of Oldenlandia water (also known as she cao shui). And this turned out to be a LIFE SAVER.

I am so relieved that yeos brought them along as I started falling sick on Day 2 and 3, constantly sneezing throughout the day. I believe that the sneezing gets more serious when I am in the stateroom, probably because it is an enclosed space with more dust trapped?? We decided to disembark only in Penang, but this isn’t a drink that can be found in the convenience stores in Penang. Why ah?
