Hello there first time cruisers, did you hear about this SeaPass card but not sure what it is used for, who gets it and when do you get it? Fred not, here’s a short write-up about what you got to know about the SeaPass Card. Here’s a photo that I took from online la HAHA but this is basically how it looks like.

What is SeaPass Card?

A SeaPass Card is a card that you bring with you anywhere you go onboard or onshore. It serves as an electric door key that allows you to get into your stateroom. It also serves as a “credit card” that allows you to make onboard purchases and services. When disembarking and embarking the cruise, it allow you to check-out and check-in easily and effortlessly, and last of all for accessing your onboard photos.

Who will get the SeaPass Card?

Everyone on the ship (including kids) will receive a SeaPass card with their information stored in the account.

When do you get your SeaPass Card?

It depends on which cruise ship you are aboard. For me, I took the 5 days 4 nights Penang trip departing from Singapore on the Spectrum of the Seas cruise ship. The SeaPass card will not yet be given to you when you are first checking in and clearing immigration at Singapore on Day 1.

It is only after you boarded the cruise, you can find it in an envelope that is being stuffed above your room number when you arrived at your room. Smart right? But hor, this means they trust each passenger to take their own room keys lo. Like what if someone “blur”, go enter another room leh.

Also, just sharing, you have to attend a fire safety training first upon boarding the cruise. Not immediately you can go to your room la. That’s all for now. Hope you have a fun and enjoyable experience. Of course, you get to keep your SeaPass Card at the end of the trip! :)
